Reflecting on "THE NEW YORK POST"

Since the success of "THE NEW YORK POST" (88 views LOL), I've been putting off writing my next post because I didn't know how I could ever top that post.

Here are some of my favorite positive reviews I've heard thus far.

-My god mother loved my post so much she thought that it was an excerpt from a magazine. No joke, she called my mother to ask her if I was a journalist and my mom had to say "no he buys fertilizer and bungee cords for a living."

-A couple of my high school teachers have told me, with my mom as the messenger, that the writing is the perfect blend of humour/wit and insightful observation which fits right in line with my target writing style on this site.

-Two of my friends dm'd me RIGHT after I posted it to tell me how much they enjoyed having something to hear about the trip that went beyond just a collection of photos.

In short, it was a great post, and I'm going to be proud of it for a long time.

Moving on...

For today's post I wanted to look at something that I knew that I was REALLY excited about: J. Crew x Christopher John Rogers.

When I was a freshman in college and new to the fashion world I discovered Christopher John Rogers and immediately loved his unique and modern style.

Christopher John Rogers is well known for his bold usage of primary colors - especially in vertical stripes.

The biggest con is that his clothes are priced so high that most people can't afford them, but with this collab more Americans are going to be able to wear his signature style.

My Must-Haves

Boldly embodying the spirit of Christopher John Rogers, this sweater/skirt pairing is a great choice for a high-fashion outfit that's always in.

With a beautiful fabric and relaxed fit, this blazer perfectly balances style and convenience.

My Favorites

This jacket is the ultimate conversation piece. I'd throw a party just to wear it.

It doesn't take a lot to convince me to wear red, but in vinyl? You'd have to tear it off me.

Conclusion

Christopher John Rogers and J. Crew did a fantastic job merging the style of both of the brands to create a fashion-forward collection for the American woman.

In fact, my only critique of this collection is how small it is. I wish there was more!

Hopefully, in the future Christopher John Rogers and J. Crew will add more depth to their one-off collections like this.

But until then I'll be rooting for them every step of the way.

Thanks for reading!

P.S. - One thing I hate about New York is how unphotogenic the city is. Like, this picture looked incredible in person, but as a photo it's pretty pathetic. 🤷‍♂️
